My GPS Logger 1.01 is a program designed to be used with My Fuel Tax 4.0.

With My GPS Logger you can log all the locations where your truck has been to a monthly data file. This data file can later be imported into My Fuel Tax 4.0 by calculating the miles in state using Microsoftâ Mappoint. This is what you will need to use My GPS Logger with My Fuel Tax:

  1. a laptop with a GPS receiver
  2. my GPS Logger
  3. My Fuel Tax
  4. Microsoftâ Mappoint

My GPS Logger is very easy to use:

You start MyGPSLogger by clicking on this icon. the following splash screen comes up.

In the bottom of the splash screen the program tells you it's starting up and is in the process of finding the GPS Receiver on your computer. Once it finds the GPS Receiver the splash screen disappears and the 'my GPSLogger Status Screen' comes up.
In this screen you have the following items:
bulletThe My Fleet Tools logo. When you click on that you will go to this web page.
bulletThe colored bar under it (blue in this image) shows the quality of your GPS link. This colored line shows you the quality of your last received data.
bulletThe color is red if only one or two satellites provided valid GPS coordinates. This means you have insufficient signal for a valid data point and my GPS Logger will not log any coordinates until this improves.
bulletThe color is yellow if three satellites provided valid GPS coordinates. The signal is good enough to log data.
bulletThe color is green if four satellites provided valid GPS coordinates.
bulletThe color is blue if five or more satellites provided valid GPS coordinates.
bulletThe grid contains all the data that my GPS Logger collected this month. Every time the grid updates, the data will be saved to a file named testfileYYMM.txt where Y is the year and M is the month. The file will be in the same folder as the program.
bulletTo activate the program you have to click on the button at the bottom of the dialog. Otherwise the program will only collect data for 10 days after which it will tell you you have to register.

The program checks for a new version each time you start it and it should offer to download a new version if it finds one. If you don't want to see the status screen you can minimize or close it.

Usually you will minimize this screen and not even look at it, but at startup it is always visible. When you click the 'X' in the right top of the dialog the program doesn't close, but it will simply be hidden.

If you want to see this dialog you can activate it by clicking on the little red truck icon in the system tray at the bottom on the right of your screen.

When you click on this icon () a pop up menu lets you choose between 'Show My GPS Logger' to see the status screen and 'Exit', which is the only way you can turn off this program.

We wanted to ensure that you won't turn myGPSLogger off by accident.
